Verified Reviews for Eglu Go - Chicken Coop for 3 Large Hens
Easy clean and secure
I'm really pleased with the Eglu Go. It cost a bit more than a wooden run but I think it will pay for itself by keeping the chickens healthy as it's really easy to keep very clean. The solid construction and skirt on the run will help in protecting them from predators. I like the design of the Grub feeder but I think I might change the Glug water feeder for a different design as the chickens keep jumping in it!

Perfect for Busy Lives
We have 6 kids and 2 full time jobs. We really want to become more self sufficient because of the size of our family so we were very interested in chicken keeping but very concerned about how much spare time we had. We decided to invest in the Eglu because the ease of care inherent in its' design really appealed to us as a family. We cannot say enough good things about how healthy our chickens are in it, how simple it makes it to care for them and how wonderful it is to see everyone in our family - down to the littlest- be able to contribute to the care and keeping of our chickens. We are about to order our 2nd Eglu!

Five stars!
Very good. The Eglu itself is easy to clean, run a little more difficult. A rake won't quite reach the Eglu end so my partner normally ends up getting in to clean the run. Maybe a gate/hatch nearer the Coop end could be added

Not as good as the reviews make out!
I already have the Eglu Cube and I have been really pleased with how easy it is to clean and maintain. I had a couple of hens that needed a home so bought the Eglu Go. I am so disappointed at how many eggs get broken due to there being no real space/depth to the laying nest area. I have had the Go for about a year now. I have tried everything from filling the whole floor with straw to keep the eggs safe but all the straw gets really messy, no matter how often its changed and still the eggs get broken. The depth of the nest area needs to be deeper so it can be filled properly. A softer landing for the Hen to lay - they stand to deliver! Hence lots of broken eggs. The mud also gets straight into the hen house and laying area, especially with such damp weather we have. No amount of cover keeps the area dry. I have opted to put the hens on rubber chippings and they are now successfully mud free! Just the problem of the broken eggs. So I now take both the trays out and let the hens lay on the soft weed suppressant membrane. Luckily they haven't started to eat the eggs deliberately. Cleaning is a real fiddle as there are too many places for dirt to collect as its hollow construction is made from 2 sides screwed together allowing lots of areas for insects and slugs underneath to hide! So if your thinking of making a purchase and you really want hens then think about the cube- off the ground, less mud in the hen house, great laying area separate from the roosting area, easy to clean - absolutely perfect! The Go will be made redundant.

The right decision
I'm delighted with my Eglu Go and definitely made the right decision to buy it. The main reason is that it is so easy to keep clean - just tip the mess onto the compost heap and hose it off under the outside tap. It takes two minutes to get it perfectly clean.

They love it!
Chickens love it, I love it - our new Eglu has cut down the amount of work it takes to keep the girls clean and healthy significantly... and it looks pretty cool too!

perfect
Bought the Eglu for 3 chicks which we hatched out from eggs at our school. They are now 9 weeks old and are very happy in it. It's easy to clean and we have been able to take it apart and take the chicks home at weekends.

I love it, the chickens love it, fox hates it!
Hello.
I have quite a few Eglu's (different colours) which I use to house chickens that are for sale. Every single time I put POL hens into the Eglu, they always lay earlier than the ones (the same age) in the wooden coops. Sometimes the Eglu gang can lay as much as 2 weeks earlier! I also have fewer problems with hen pecking, and illness.
The coops are easy to clean thoroughly, although the do look messier than the wooden coops, and it is harder to poo pick, it only takes 10 minutes to give them a really good clean, the girls don't even notice I'm doing it, as I just shut the door, and leave them secure in the run part.
We have had a few fox visits in the last couple of weeks, and everyone in the wooden coops has been lost (thankfully it was not as many as we usually have) but although we saw paw prints on and around the Eglus, and a couple of marks on the bars, the only damage that was done to the Eglus was that one hook had been torn off the elastic holding the cover on. Poor foxy probably thought he'd hit gold when it came of, only to discover the bars underneath! So although they are more expensive than the wooden ones, it is all we will be using from now on!
Keep up the good work Omlet! :-)

Excellent product and so far promises all it states ideal for smaller garden.
Acquired Eglu Go 2 weeks ago and from the day after assembling and putting the 2 Ginger Nut Rangers and the Speckledie in their new home we have been getting 2 to 3 eggs a day. Already thinking about buying the Cube!. Only hiccup was that the box did not contain the instruction leaflet for assembly or the caring for chicken booklet, this was soon remedied.
