Fantastic
Alison,
We had bought 3 cheaper hen house's before we said maybe this might be the one to get, after reading all the reviews. It is brillant. Today I moved and cleaned the house. It looks as new as the day we put it together. It took a good 3 hours to put together though.
Review for: Eglu Cube Chicken Coop with Run (2m) and Wheels - Green
A roomy penthouse lair for our flock of 5 chickens
Hannah,
Our initial purchase of the Eglu Go-Up proved too small for our flock. The Cube has a flat roof, which is not as cute. The ladder and door latches are very tight. The coop tray is longer, so it's unwieldy to balance on my knee while I remove the night's poop. The front door on the coop is smaller. I find it necessary to step into the run to remove the feeder and water trough, so a larger person would have difficulty. The chickens have more space.

Cube
Sandy,
I absolutely love it and I have wished that I had ordered two! I have only five Bantam silkies in mine and it still looks crowded. I would never put 10 full-size chickens in there. I wish that there was one that was twice as big! It is adorable and easy to clean and everything the advertisements said it was .

Excellent - the chickens are settled and happy
Linda,
The only issue we had was an administrative problem. Payment had been taken and yet product was not despatched until we rang to chase it when we told there was an issue even though transaction had gone through.

Brilliant product.
Neil,
We were using one of the more traditional chicken coups prior to purchasing our Omlet coup. The old one was difficult to clean out. It became dirty easily, and muck would stick to the wood. The original coup also in a shady spot in the garden so would attract mould and moss. Also, no separation between the perches and the laying area in the old coup, so chickens would sleep in there and poo in it. The Omlet Eglu Cube MK2 has solved all of these issues. It is well built, and our impressions are that this will last so much longer than a traditional coup. It is easy to clean - can be scrubbed and jet washed. It's now easy to get rid of waste as the tray in the Omlet coup slides out easily. No mould or moss grows as the coup is plastic. Finally, the laying area can be closed off at night, so no poo gets left in the straw, which in turn means the straw doesn't need changing quite so much. We love this new addition to our garden, and they seem to like it too! Thoroughly recommended product.

Love it already
Daniel,
So I have had an issue with a very persistent fox over the last 2 years. Wiped most of my flock out a few months ago. Was left with 1 traumatised light Sussex so took the decision to no longer let her free range. She went broody 4 weeks ago today and hatched a lovely lil Columbian blacktail man a week ago. Got some fertile eggs but had some issues. Anyway, this week I have received this cube with run, a connection panel, and a 4m x 3m walk in run. I cannot comment on if my LS likes the cube, she's far to busy in her broody coop trying to keep lil Mr nugget entertained. But it was so easy to assemble, and I just know from how it feels how secure it is. For the 1st night in months i know when I go out in the morning the fox will have been disappointed. I can now start to build a little flock of these loveable creatures. And it felt so awesome burning the mite infested coop and run. Definitely need a basic understanding of how things go together or this could be tricky.

Fantastic Coop - definitely worth investing in
Kasia, VIC,
I have tried home made wooden coops, Rubbermaid plastic type large shed just like on you tube which I modified to suit and a metal walk in shed. It took me 2 years to finally decide to buy the Eglu. By far, this Eglu Cube Mk 2 (no run, no wheels) has been the best coop so far. I've had it about 5 weeks now. I have 8 chickens (4 Australorps, 1 Isa Brown, 2 Hyline Browns, 1 Aurucana) The set up took a while (2 1/2 hours) and it helps to have 2 people but not impossible with one person. The only CON I found is in the set up. You have to take your time and be precise with screwing in the screws. I almost finished and got to my second last screw installing the square metal roof plate which joins the 2 roof panels together, when the screw burred and now it's stuck. Can't get screw out or further in. There are 4 screw holes in this roof plate, so I managed to get 3 screws in successfully and 1 quarter of the way in. I contacted Omlet Australia who contacted Omlet UK who said it was my user error burring the screw and that it won't affect the water seal or functionality of the coop. They said there is a thick rubber seal that sits between the 2 roof panels and as long as you have most of the screws in, it will still be ok. I did a water test and put a couple of buckets over the roof from the outside to check for leaks and surprisingly it is water tight. Whilst I'm not happy about having a burred screw, there is nothing I can do about it. So please take your time to line up your panels and screws before you screw them in and go slow and gentle. Other than the small hiccup with my burred screw during set up, everything about this coop is amazing. It is very easy and quick to clean, the poo just drops down through the slats no problem, I haven't found it to get stuck on the slats. The chickens look comfortable sitting on the slats. The nest area is great, enough room for 3 chickens at a time and I have seen 3 in there comfortably. I haven't had to use the sliding nest door as my chickens don't sleep in the nest luckily but it's good that there is a door if needed. I was worried there would't be enough room for all my chickens inside as they are all full size and the inside area does look small, but all 8 chickens sleep comfortably inside huddled together for warmth and there is still room for 2 more chickens which would be squishy but still enough room for them to turn or move around to get comfortable, but I wouldn't put any more than 10. I'm actually very surprised for the size that it is actually enough room. The ladder is great and the chickens haven't had problems going up/down, even my Aurucana who has deformed feet has no problem using the ladder. The functionality and use of this coop is very user friendly. Checking for eggs is so easy and removing the poo tray or the back panel is easy too and makes cleaning a breeze. I just hose it down and if it's cold I'll wipe it dry, otherwise leave to air dry before putting tray back in. My chickens took about 1 day to get used to going into it. I did have to put them inside myself the first night, but I think that would be for any coop. After that they took to it no problem. They seem to be very happy and comfortable. I think it's warm enough in the colder weather and I sometimes close the door when it gets windy at night. The main door is easy to open/close. I'll be waiting to see how the Cube performs in hot weather but I think there is enough ventilation in there. Siting it in the shade during hot weather will help. Overall, I am very very satisfied with the Cube and the customer service and think it's money well spent even though it cost me $919 (including delivery NSW to Melbourne VIC) It was delivered overnight which I was impressed with. This Cube could just win on the fact of how super easy it is to maintain and clean as cleaning the coop is the main and most important and frustrating part of keeping chickens.
