Every day I clean it out I thank my son for persuading me not to go for a wooden coop! And the chickens seemed happy aswell. We have had to add a log to the bottom of the ladder to help one little silkie up initially. But she has got the hang of it now.

Very happy with our Eglu. Its easy to move which was the main reason we went for it and very easy to clean which is a real plus. I was surprised it did not come with some pegs for securing the run from foxes, which is fairly important. Also the door latches could be better designed as once you have opened the run door you are left holder the two pins. We have 4 chickens in our extended run, I would not suggest having anymore than that and certainly not the 10 you suggest in the Eglu specifications.

After ordering, the flat packs arrived promptly and we set to putting the cube and extension run together. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and after a couple of hours two of us had a completed cube and 2 metre run. A few weeks later we stocked with 5 beautiful hybrids from Newland Poultry (highly recommended) who are thriving and producing plenty of eggs. Overall we are delighted with the Eglu Cube, it is a practical, being easy to maintain and clean, attractive addition to the garden. More importantly the "girls" love it! My only very slight concern is that the hens do not seem to like the roosting bars and prefer to sleep in the nesting box. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what solutions have you employed.

We already had an Eglu Classic, but having recently hatched one chick and bought another our flock was up to 4, so decided to invest in the Cube - it is great, well made, easy to clean, all as expected, but also easier to move around than the Classic, although we still use this as well at the moment for the chicks & their "mum", so had to buy another chicken when bought the Cube to keep the other one company - so currently they all have plenty of room, but will eventually put all 5 in the Cube.

I am extremely pleased with the high quality build of my green cube. I purchased walk-in runs to attach to eat and would highly recommend these for provide greater space and ease of tidying/cleaning run areas.

In my opinion the cube with aitsstandard, or even with an extended run, does not offer sufficent space for 10 chickens. Chickens need more space to be kept happy, even when the unit is moved around.

I did think twice about ordering a Cube because of the cost, but it has proved to be easy to clean and maintain, and the hens seem to like it a lot.

My chickens are now pretty happy with the cube itself - the interior is really easy to clean, and they are happy sleeping in the roosting area and laying in the laying area, which is a great improvement on my previous wooden house. The only problem i've encountered is the ladder - my chickens wouldn't/couldn't climb it, and I had to create a wooden insert that hangs off its rungs and makes the surface easier to climb.

I am overall pleased with the Cube. I have the small 2m run as my girls free range all day. However it is useful to have the facility to shut them in the run if needed and also it is useful to hook the food and water bowls to the cage. The sun shade doubles as shelter from the rain. As a previous reviewer has stated it is very difficult to get into the caged area to clean/top up the food as you need to stoop down double to get into the cage as the door is much lower than the top of the cage. Compared to the Eglu (there is no comparison, they are in different leagues) it is easier to access and clean as you just slide out the poo trays without needing to bend. My only concern is that there are sizeable gaps around the poo trays so I don't know how warm my girls will be in Winter as the wind will whilstle through. Also the Cube is not big enough for 10 hens. I house 6 in mine and they are average sized hybrids. 4 roost on the bars and 2 sleep in the laying box. Very easy to access the eggs via a door on the side of the cube and again no bending.

Very pleased to report that our four birds are now clear of red mite after leaving their wooden coop for the Cube; took a couple of cleans under the roosting bars to eradicate the ones the birds must have brought in with them, but we are so pleased as none of the treatments we had tried worked effectively. We had to prop their old wooden ramp over the Cube's ladder to begin with; they are used to jumping up now, but being smaller breeds the gaps in between the rungs and the diameter of the rungs themselves are quite large - it would help if there was a better surface for them to grip on to as they hop up. Ours prefer to all cram into the nesting box to sleep together than standing on the roosting bars! We're in agreement with a previous review that some kind of handles to assist moving the Cube would be a good idea, as the wire run is difficult to pull from. Overall, brilliant but priced out of many people's pockets and we wouldn't say it could house ten birds comfortably; six to eight maximum depending on breed size.
