Most birds need the gentle approach especially if young they will gain trust when they feel safe so gently is the way talk to them and give them treats my budgie lives bits of carrot and broccoli best and I hand feed it to him in his cage he now lets me stroke him all over and trusts me and of course lives the treats gently does it gain his trust first never leave old food in his cage after one day take it out

I put veggies and fruit in the lid of a small container. I then put it in the bottom of the cage away from the perches. My bird perches on the outer rim of the lid and can easily get the snacks.

Are there any ideas for how to feed chopped up vegetables as well as seeds in the centre of the omlet cage? I hang a feeder on the bars currently but there would be less mess if it could be fed from the centre. I didn't research this enough as the central feeding station was one of the main reasons for me wanting this cage!
